Dear Dr. Woolf,
Ellie Mae arrived safely in Lilongwe this afternoon. She was very happy to see her dad, and did not appear traumatized! She sat happily in the car looking out the window (her new friend Aaron, driving, said she was better behaved than the last dog). She explored her new yard, rolled on the grass, greeted all the people in her yard, and at one point accidentally fell into the pool (she has never been willing to swim before, but maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks). At last report, she was sound asleep beside Maitland, having given up on staring at him to get him to take her outside again. Thanks for your efforts in getting her there. I know it was not an easy case!

Should you plan to purchase a puppy via the internet,
please be aware of the following facts.

Know your seller! Do not rely on photos. Scammers use photos to lure you to wiring money for a purchase you will never see.

Do not wire any funds to a total stranger, especially out of the country; especially to an African country.

If the purchase cost sounds too good to be true, it is. Caveat premptor. Buyer beware !

If you have wired funds overseas, and have not received your promised purchase; please contact your local office of the United States Secret Service, Internet Fraud Section to report your loss.

Destination South Africa

Pet entry into the Republic of South Africa is controlled by both an import permit along with a booked and manifest air cargo shipment. Microchip identification, as well proof of Rabies immunization not more than one year prior to entry, and at minimum 30 days prior to entry into the Republic. Dogs require five (5) distinct blood tests within 30 days of entry. An international health certificate .. a four page document issued by an accredited veterinarian within ten days of entry, also requires export endorsement by the USDA.
