Summer 2010 Pet Air Travel

Friday, April 30th, 2010

You’ve called the airlines to book your summer air travel to your favorite destination and have been told there is an embargo on pets traveling with you between 15 May & 15 September.  You’re looking for help, assistance, & alternatives.

With American, Delta and United not accepting pets for travel with ticketed passengers on the given dates, you’re frustrated and want solutions.

The phones are ringing off the hook, the website inquires are daunting and Air Animal is not your answer to leisure travel with your pet.

Air Animal is a pet moving service for relocating families using the scheduled passenger airlines air cargo products, both nationwide and worldwide.

Air Animal takes responsibility to move your pet as unaccompanied air cargo.  We provide origin pickup and destination delivery as well as managing the air cargo portion of the pet move.

For additional information, contact Air Animal Pet Movers (the relocating pets’ best friend since 1977) to learn more about we do.

On the road: Houston & back to Tampa

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Tuesday evening of this past week found me on the late afternoon flight to Houston to attend the Wednesday morning meeting of IATA’s LAPB (live animal & perishable board), the airlines committee governing the acceptance and transport of live animals on the scheduled passenger airlines and all cargo carriers.

With business tended to in the morning, a tour of NASA’s Space Center in the spring afternoon was most delightful.

A rushed taxi’s return to the Houston airport had me on the flight back to Tampa and home.

Note: Houston’s hotels were fully booked with European travelers waiting for the skies to clear of volcanic ash.

UK airports open 10 00 p.m. tonight

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

All Airlines and Airport Authorities have just advised all UK Airports will be opened as of 10PM and will take some time to get flights and airports in order to accommodate our furry friends back to the families! :-)

Great news and lets hope that this is the case.

Civil Aviation Authority will be monitoring the situation over the next few days and all aircraft will be safe to fly…

Thanks and kindest regards

Iceland volcanic update – pets in transit

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Tampa TribuneHoward Altman, a reporter with the Tampa Tribune called this morning to discuss if Air Animal had any pets stranded at European airports due to Iceland’s volcanic eruptions.

Air Animal’s pets scheduled to be shipped from Europe to the US are either in residence with the pet owners or are in safe, secure boarding with Air Animal’s EU service partners.
