Pet entry into the Republic of South Africa is controlled by both an import permit along with a booked and manifest air cargo shipment. Microchip identification, as well proof of Rabies immunization not more than one year prior to entry, and at minimum 30 days prior to entry into the Republic. Dogs require  five (5) distinct blood tests within 30 days of entry. An international health certificate .. a four page document issued by an accredited veterinarian within ten days of entry, also requires export endorsement by the USDA.
