Air Animal has great relationships with our clients and airline carriers around the globe. Our family-owned pet relocation service was founded in 1977 in Tampa, Florida, by Dr. Walter Woolf, a licensed veterinarian. We have grown into one of the most comprehensive and well-respected pet shipping companies in the U.S.
As an IATA air cargo agency endorsed and appointed by more than 225 airlines, Air Animal is your top choice for moving your pet. We set the bar for corporate relocation pet move standards and received the 2014 Impact Award from CARTUS corporate relocation as a result. Learn more on our news page.
We blend our love of animals with:
Dr. Walter Woolf entered private practice in Tampa, FL, after earning a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Woolf Animal Hospital opened in 1961 caring for dogs, cats, assorted other household pets and even some farm animals near Tampa International Airport.
As time went by, airline carriers sought his advice on how to best meet the needs of traveling animals. Dr. Woolf's relationship with the airlines soon grew to include caring for and boarding pets traveling through Tampa without their owners. The experience opened his eyes to the growing need for a service focused exclusively on the complex requirements for moving pets domestically and abroad.
Dr. Woolf opened Air Animal alongside his private veterinary practice in 1977. He insisted on perfection with his new pet transportation venture, so he helped set the standards for the growing animal relocation industry. He made sure that Air Animal created a safe and enjoyable relocation experience pets and their owners.
Today, Air Animal's team moves dogs, cats, birds, fish, the occasional horse and other pets to destinations all over the world. Dr. Woolf's daughter, Andrea Woolf Parker, joined Air Animal in 2008 and recently served as board president for the Southeastern Regional Relocation Council. Andrea's husband, Ronald Parker, joined Air Animal in 2014. They represent Air Animal with the relocation councils in Tennessee, Charlotte and metropolitan Atlanta.
In addition to serving as the company's managing director, Dr. Woolf continues to share his expertise in safe and humane pet relocation as a consultant to veterinarians across the U.S., several major global airlines, corporate relocation companies and industry organizations.
