Move Your Pet Bahamas

Leave the details to us!

Moving your pet to Nassau, Freeport or beyond is full of airline rules, regulations and timelines. Let Air Animal Pet Movers® deal with the details transporting your pets into your island.

Five steps for entry into the Bahamas:

  1. Pet parents must personally apply for a pet import permit. We advise applying 30 days before arrival. Money orders or drafts can be sent via courier service. Personal checks are not accepted.
  2. The Bahamian government sends the import permit to the pet parent who applied along with Veterinarian Form (AGR/VS/1A).
  3. While waiting for the import permit:
    • Locate the pet’s valid rabies vaccination certificate and bring it to the veterinary visit.
    • The microchip number must be on the rabies vaccination certificate and confirmed by veterinary examination.
  4. Make an appointment with a licensed Veterinarian 24 hours before travel to certify your pet's health, microchip number and rabies vaccination. The veterinarian completes the form.
  5. Submit the cat or dog import permit along with the Veterinarian Form at the port of entry or departure.

After you move:

Please register with a local veterinarian to keep your pet's rabies vaccination up to date. Veterinarians typically send reminder notices when vaccinations are due. If another move is in your future, you and your pet will be ready.

Air Animal Pet Movers® and our Caribbean pet move specialists know the drill, know the routine, and are experienced. Pet moving made easy®. That's our focus, our passion and our promise.
