Move Your Pet to Cuba
Available for ticketed airline travelers only. Pets traveling to Cuba are typically small, hand-carried cabin baggage. Unaccompanied air cargo shipments are not permitted at this time.
- Air Animal’s founding veterinarian in the Tampa, FL office is available Monday – Friday by appointment to examine your pet and issue the proper international health certificate. USDA endorsement is not required.
- A pet microchip is strongly recommended, but not required.
- Your pet’s rabies vaccination should be at least 30 days old before entering Cuba and not expired. Rabies vaccine is available for one-year duration or three-year duration.
- Traveling with pets to Cuba is easily accomplished. Moving pets to Cuba is a fluid situation. Please bookmark this page for up-to-the-minute information.
After you move:
Please register with a local veterinarian to keep your pet's rabies vaccination up to date. Veterinarians typically send reminder notices when vaccinations are due.
Also consider having your U.S. veterinarian run a complete blood count, a differential and chem panel on your dog or cat before moving. Take the report with you to share with your new veterinarian. If another move is in your future, you and your pet will be ready.
