Citizens returning home to Israel and Americans relocating with pets requires attention to detail and specific timing to meet Israel's requirements. Air Animal knows and understands Israel's rules, regulations, and protocol for both air cargo and in-cabin pet travelers.

In Cabin or Accompanied Baggage

• Microchip identification
• Proof of rabies immunization at least 30 days before but not more than one year before entry.
• FAVN-OIE rabies antibody blood draw followed by a 30-day stateside waiting period.
• An international health certificate must be issued by a USDA-accredited veterinarian within ten days of entry. This certificate also requires export endorsement by the USDA.

Air Cargo
(For unaccompanied pets and those not eligible to fly as cabin baggage.)

• Microchip identification
• Proof of rabies immunization at least 30 days before but not more than one year before entry.
• FAVN-OIE rabies antibody blood draw followed by a 30-day stateside waiting period.
• Pet entry into Israel is controlled by both an import permit along with proof of a booked and manifest air cargo shipment.
• An international health certificate must be issued by a USDA-accredited veterinarian within ten days of entry. This certificate also requires export endorsement by the USDA.
• Pets may only arrive in Israel between Sunday at 6 a.m. and midnight Thursday Israeli time. Israel must be notified of pet arrivals 2 days in advance.

After you move:

Please register with a local veterinarian to keep your pet's rabies vaccination up to date. Veterinarians typically send reminder notices when vaccinations are due.

Also consider having your U.S. veterinarian run a complete blood count, a differential and chem panel on your dog or cat before moving. Take the report with you to share with your new veterinarian. If another move is in your future, you and your pet will be ready.
